Websites of the Month: Don't Fly Solo

MILES AND MILES
www.flyertalk.com
According to MSNBC.com, there are an estimated 120 million Americans who own frequent flyer miles from 92 frequent-flyer programs available worldwide, totalling more than 9.7 trillion unredeemed miles in the market. So it just makes sense that people would want to find out how to better navigate this new economy of miles by sharing information with other mileage junkies. Flyertalk.com serves as a forum where users can discuss and share information about programs, airports, destinations, dining, and general travel topics.

CONNECTING IN CHINA
www.clubchina.klm.com
With the unprecedented and continually increasing volume of travel to and from China, Air France and KLM's frequent-flyer program Flying Blue recently launched www.clubchina.klm.com, a social networking website exclusively for its members. Users can search for other users and make connections, create a personal calendar of local events, get words and expressions translated, and calculate currency conversions. Users can also chat live using the site's instant-messaging tool. Club China also offers privileged access to business lectures and events taking place across China.

PACKING THE GOLF GEAR
www.fbgolfclub.com
Flying Blue Golf Club, also an online community for members of KLM and Air France's Flying Blue, centers on golf. Golf Club members can get in touch with other golf community members, add events to the agenda, and share first-hand tips and information. Besides the calendar of events, the site aggregates news headlines relevant to golf aficionados worldwide. In the advertisement section, anything golf-related, such as insurance and golf lessons, can be offered and requested. Golfers in the community can send instant messages to one another, check on golf events, and see who will be attending.
