The way we interact at meetings has evolved. While it used to be fine to just seat attendees together like a class and have them be lectured at by the speaker, times have changed. Thanks to shifting expectations from attendees and speakers as well as the proliferation of mobile devices and social media, the same-ol' event set-up just doesn't cut it anymore.
To help meeting and event planners navigate these changing demands, Successful Meetings is hosting a webcast on Thursday, Jan. 18 on "The New World of Meeting Design." The event gathers together three experts on the topic, exploring how meeting design has evolved and providing best practices for turning a traditional event into a more interactive, impactful experience. Sponsored by Visit Alexandria, the webcast will take place at 2 p.m. EST and provides attendees with CMP credits. Registration can be done here for free.
Presenters include Suzanne Halperin, vice president of catering and banquet brand operations for Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, who has oversees the operational excellence of catering and banquets across the Kimpton's dozens of properties and will bring her innovative perspective to the conversation.
Roel Frissen, co-founder of EventModelGeneration, founder of Center for Business Model Innovation, and former vice chairman of MPI, will also be presenting. He will bring his years of expertise on event planning that informed his book, Event Design Handbook. Additionally, the webcast will feature Paul O. Radde, Ph.D., founder of The Thrival Institute who "has his blackbelt in room set," as he puts it. Radde authored the Convention Industry Council Manual 6th edition on meeting room setup, wrote the "3M Visual Systems" chapter on Making Meetings Work, and authored Seating Matters: State of the Art Seating Arrangements.
In addition to presentations from the featured speakers, the webcast will also provide a Q&A segment in which listeners can ask their own specific queries of the presenters. Register now right here.
