In the latest MiMegasite.com poll, 254 planners responded to the question: "Which of the following mishaps would be the worst one that could happen at your meeting?"
Leading the pack with 38 percent was, "The name of the major meeting sponsor is misspelled on its banner." Garnering 31 percent of planner's votes was, "Audiovisual during sessions is a disaster." Twenty percent of respondents said the worst would be if there's "Not enough food or bad food throughout the event." Just seven percent said the worst thing of these choices would be "Too many openly drunk attendees at the final-evening function." And coming in last, with just two percent of the vote, was "The keynote speaker is seen making a pass as an attendee."
It's interesting that, with all of the publicity that comes these days from improper conduct at meetings, the two choices related to that topic came in at the bottom. Clearly, the choices that were related to the bottom line were the ones planners felt most strongly about.
