In the merger of two of the meetings industry's strongest technology companies, last month supplier marketer PlanSoft Corporation combined with corporate spend management company seeUthere Technologies to create a new joint organization called OnVantage Inc. The stock-swap deal saw Twinsburg, OH-based PlanSoft CEO David Hunt take over as chairman of OnVantage, which will offer the meetings spend and supplier management services of both companies to current and future clients. "OnVantage represents a synergistic merger of equals," he said. Meanwhile, John Chang, chief executive of Santa Clara, CA-based seeUthere will serve as CEO of the new company. For the time being, the seeUthere and PlanSoft brands will continue to operate, and no immediate price or service changes for clients of either company were indicated, although Chang said that prices and terms of service could be reconfigured as new offerings are rolled out.
