In existence for over 50 years and counting 30 organizations as members, the Convention Industry Council (CIC) casts a wide net and offers a substantial Resource Center for members and nonmembers alike. Recent offerings from CIC cover labor disputes, including an official statement from CIC, recommendations should a dispute arise, and hotel union contract updates. Other information in the extensive CIC coffers ranges from details on schools with hospitality and tourism programs, to a budgeting tool, to travel safety information.

The white papers and research tools section of the Meeting Professionals International (MPI) site is chock-full of valuable resources. Need a salary survey? How about a report on multicultural initiatives or the economic impact of the meeting and convention industry in the U.S.? MPI's site is your go-to source for such industry research. A sub-section of the site also covers the Global Corporate Circle of Excellence (GCCOE), and provides supplemental materials supporting MPI's Pathways to Excellence strategic plan, including a paper on procurement issues—the first in a series of expected tools from GCCOE.
SITE Foundation, the research branch of the Society of Incentive & Travel Executives, funds global research related to the incentive industry—to the tune of $500,000 and 20 projects to date. SITE offers reports to members ($35) and nonmembers ($50); studies available date back as far as 1992 and synopses of reports that have not been released are also available along with the expected release date. SITE maintains and pursues relationships with institutions, industry groups, academia, SITE chapters, and corporations to further its mission to serve as the leading resource for industry information and research, so you can expect those reports to keep coming.
