IAEE Publishes Updated Rules, Regulations for Exhibitions

The International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) has updated "Best Practices for Exhibition Rules," its guide to rules and regulations in the trade show industry, it announced yesterday.

Originally published in 2009, the guide outlines best practices in areas such as exhibit space, contract management, display rules, and conduct. Its goal is to create a "level playing field" for all exhibitors and attendees by defining how buyers and sellers should interact with each other on and off the show floor.

"This year, our task force of a cross section of the professionals in our industry updated the outstanding document first produced in 2009," said 2015 IAEE Best Practices for Show Rules Task Force Chairperson Wayne Crawford. "We've also added the beginnings of a section on event technologies, which are becoming ever more important in today's events world. This document provides both inexperienced and experienced event producers with a starting point, as well as points of reference, for best practices for interaction with a very critical part of the events ecosystem: the exhibitor."
