Starwood Teams with StarCite to Integrate Electronic Group Leads

StarCite Inc. and Starwood Hotels & Resorts have struck an electronic sales integration partnership that connects meetings and incentive requests sent by planners through StarCite's electronic marketplace with the hotelier's sales automation system.

As a result of the integration, the Starwood sales team will be able to more efficiently handle the flow of corporate and group travel requests (RFPs) to each of its 960 properties and provide faster, more detailed responses to meeting planners, according to a statement.

"By partnering with StarCite, we will be able to provide faster and better service to our customers, manage leads more efficiently, and ultimately close more sales," said Barry Goldstein, Starwood's vice president of sales strategy and operations. "We are pleased to push the envelope in terms of meetings technology and improve the overall meetings planning process."

Starwood is integrating its sales automation system directly with the StarCite platform, said to ensure fast, efficient, and more accurate responses to RFPs. The integration will eliminate several manual steps in the RFP evaluation process. Starwood will then route leads to specific members of its sales team, accordingly.

"This partnership is an example of the promise of meetings technology—a new solution that improves the planning experience for meetings buyers and streamlines the sales process for Starwood," said David O'Donohoe, StarCite's senior vice president of global supplier sales and operations.
