StarCite Launches Experimental Website

Philadelphia -- StarCite, the leader in meetings technology, yesterday announced StarCite TV, an experimental website that features videos of meeting venues and allows more interaction from event planners than its flagship website.

"StarCite TV will be the place where we launch new technologies and determine the value of these technologies to our meeting planner community," said StarCite chief executive Michael Boult.

Now in beta, or test mode, StarCite TV (at www.starcite.tv) also includes hotel listings and meeting-planning blogs. StarCite plans to add soon hotel property ratings based on planners' experiences, mapping mash-ups that show local restaurants and attractions located near meeting venues, market trends based on StarCite data gleaned from its Global Meeting Marketplace, instant group booking capability, and meeting planner surveys.

"We are bringing transparency to the group meeting planning industry," said Bob Bennett, StarCite's senior vice president of supplier markets. "Our goal is to give planners all the information and tools they need to optimize their performance, and suppliers every opportunity to connect with the professionals who are planning corporate meetings and events."

The company continues to operate the Global Meeting Marketplace, with listings for some 93,000 event suppliers, at www.starcite.com. Planners can send and manage requests for proposals through the website.
