QuickMobile's Mobile App Certificate Program Debuts

Using iPhone

The meetings industry's first certificate program focused on mobile technology is moving forward, according to its creator, meetings technology company QuickMobile, which yesterday released the official mobile app for its new Mobile App Certificate Program.

Announced in January, the self-directed Mobile App Certificate Program is worth up to 10 continuing education units (CEUs) that meeting planners can apply toward earning their Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or CMP Healthcare Subspecialty (CMP-HC) accreditation. All 10 CEUs can be earned remotely via the program's official app, allowing meeting planners to learn and study on their own schedules and their own terms.

"Mobile event apps continue to grow in popularity and are proving to have a dramatic impact on the success of meetings and events around the world," QuickMobile CEO Craig Brennan said in a statement. "We initiated this certificate program to turn meeting professionals into mobile event app champions who can lead their organizations and clients in planning, building, managing, and deploying apps at all their events."

The Convention Industry Council (CIC), which administers the CMP and CMP-HC credentials, has reviewed QuickMobile's program and is offering the following CEUs toward CMP certification and/or recertification:

• Domain F: Stakeholder Management, 2 hours
• Domain B: Project Management, 1 hour
• Domain I: Marketing, 2 hours
• Domain D: Financial Management, 1 hour
• Domain G: Meeting and Event Design, 2 hours

To earn the offered CEUs, meeting professionals will use the Mobile App Certificate Program app -- developed in partnership with Meeting Change, etouches, and Sonic Foundry -- to complete a series of short e-learning video sessions and associated quiz-style assessments.

The certificate program costs $229 USD, which is due upon registration. CIC will grant CE credits upon completion of the program. For more information, visit http://goo.gl/ZuPdlq.
