Hoping to engage meeting planners in Spanish-speaking countries, as well as bilingual meeting planners in the United States, the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) has partnered with Convention News Television (CNTV), a video marketing company that specializes in meetings-industry clients, to launch "PCMA-TV en Español," it announced yesterday.
PCMA-TV en Español will provide online video coverage of PCMA events — including highlights from education sessions, summaries of keynote speeches and one-on-one interviews — in both English and Spanish, all delivered by Spanish-speaking talent.
"PCMA-TV en Español is part of a larger strategy to provide products that meet the needs of our constituents in Latin, Central and South America and Europe," said PCMA COO Sherrif Karamat. "It's a demand growth area for us, and it's truly communicating in the most effective way."
PCMA-TV en Español is the brainchild of CNTV CEO Marcelo Zolessi, a native of Urguay, who created the product after discussions with Karamat.
"This opens up a new audience for associations seeking to expand their reach," Zolessi said. "They now have the ability to deliver information to the Spanish-speaking world. We are excited to provide this new service for all our clients."
PCMA-TV en Español debuted during the PCMA International Summit in Las Vegas earlier this month. Its next assignment will be coverage of PCMA's annual meeting, Convening Leaders, Jan. 8-11, 2012, in San Diego.
