Hilton Launches New Site for Meeting Planners

At an intimate reception held during the Meeting Professionals International (MPI) World Education Congress (WEC) on July 22, Hilton Worldwide unveiled its newest initiative for meeting planners. Called Connect at Hilton Worldwide, the online portal is meant to give planners immediate access to various event management tools and business solutions.

These tools and business solutions include the following:

Meetings Simplified: Bundled facilities and services packages, priced per person, and meant for planners to book.
Wish You Were Here: A promotion that enables planners to win up to 1 million Bonus Hilton HHonors Points for any bookings made in the Americas through Sept. 15.
Connect +: An enhanced online platform (hiltonworldwide.com/connectplus) that connects planners to 115 of Hilton Worldwide’s largest hotels in the Americas, all of which specialize in hosting meetings and events and can offer detailed planning support. Each of these hotels is located in a major destination city and has either 450 or more room or at least 40,000 square feet of meeting space. They include the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, the Boca Raton Resort Club in Florida, and the Conrad New York in New York City.

During Hilton Worldwide’s reception during MPI’s WEC, Mark Komine, senior vice president and head of sales for the Americas, said the decision to launch Connect at Hilton Worldwide was motivated by a desire to “provide value for planners.” He added, “We wanted to create something dynamic and to look at all points of views — from the planner, the attendee, and the hotel.”

Larry Luteran, senior vice president of group sales and industry relations for Hilton Worldwide, said, “There’s a need to elevate the conversation and for meeting planners to have a seat at the table … this tool is a resource for meeting professionals to get the tools that can make them more efficient and productive. We’ve spent a lot of time and money making sure that our sales team understands what our customers are going through.”

Komine added that the site will continue to evolve over time, and that he looks forward to feedback from the meeting professionals community. “Adding value is having expertise and we know this will not be a static site,” he said. “It’s for planners, and it was built with their consultation. We know that no matter what, relevancy is the key.”
