EventMobi Plans First-Ever Event Technology Curriculum for University Students

Graduation Caps

Although young meeting planners are extremely tech-savvy, they typically don't know much about meetings technology, specifically. For that reason, mobile meetings app maker EventMobi has teamed up with Joe Goldblatt, founding president of the International Special Events Society (ISES) and the author and editor of 35 books on event management, to produce a university-developed event technology program, it recently announced.

The "Event Technology Certificate" program will be offered for free to professors at accredited institutions as a standalone course or as a resource they can use within an existing curriculum. It will be available both online and face-to-face to accommodate any course format and to allow students maximum flexibility.

"Partnering with EventMobi provides us with unique and highly valued insight into the latest innovations in event technology," said Goldblatt, a professor at the International Centre for the Study of Planned Events at Scotland's Queen Margaret University. "Combined with industry knowledge and experience, we can deliver a technology-centric event management education program that's the first of its kind."

The certificate program will go beyond the scope of EventMobi's product offering and will include dedicated units on project management apps, event design, social media, and more. It's currently scheduled to launch to colleges and universities in spring 2016.
