Event Networking App Bizzabo Introduces New Features

Bizzabo, a mobile networking platform for meetings and events, has upgraded its Apple and Android apps with new features that it calls “user engagement boosters,” it announced last week.

Designed to maximize attendee interaction on social media and in person, Bizzabo incorporates LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter for the purpose of building interactive communities around events. Its newest feature is push notifications that allow users to actively monitor who has viewed their profile, what their connections are up to and what events their connections are attending, which allows attendees to more actively pursue networking opportunities. For instance, if a LinkedIn contact is going to an event you might be interested in, the app will notify you.

Other new features are the ability to share favorite speakers, event partners and sessions, and a new “like” button, which Bizzabo argues will bridge the gap between social media and live events while also providing data about attendee preferences to event organizers.

“The engagement boosters are a way to add a deeper layer of social activity to an event or conference. Attendees will now have the ability to interact with conference content on a new level by sharing the sessions they’re excited about or ‘liking’ the speakers they enjoyed,” Bizzabo Co-Founder and CMO Alon Alroy said in a statement. “These new features are aimed at increasing attendee engagement and improving event awareness and curiosity. Our new ‘who viewed my profile’ feature makes it much easier and more fun to spark conversations with fellow attendees.”

Bizzabo launched in July 2012 and has since been integrated into a number of major events, including Marketo Summit, Next Berlin, TiECon and CE Week. For more information, visit www.bizzabo.com.
