Based on the success of last year's event, this year's European Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings (EIBTM) exhibition — taking place Nov. 27 – 29, 2012, in Barcelona — will feature an enhanced "Future Events Experience" with new elements and additional contributors, organizer Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) announced today.
Developed in partnership with Newtonstrand and Eventskills, the Future Events Experience will showcase innovative meeting technologies and services. Events taking place in the space will include speaker presentations, live demonstrations and networking opportunities.
"There is no doubt that technology within the meetings industry and in fact across all industries is progressing at an exponential rate," said EIBTM Exhibition Director Graeme Barnett. "As the world's leading event for the meetings and events industry, it is of primary importance that we not only ensure we are offering the latest in technological innovations for our own show but also that we are helping all of our attendees learn about the latest products and trends so that they can utilize these when driving their own businesses forward."
Highlights at this year's Future Events Experience include the "Experts Clinic," a drop-in clinic that will connect attendees with experts in meetings technology; an "Ask the Experts" panel facilitated by Corbin Ball, CEO of Corbin Ball Associates; and the incorporation of Newtonstrand's Chance2Speak platform, which provides attendees with the opportunity to become a speaker at EIBTM with a 20- to 30-minute time slot during which they can present on a topic of their choice.
"The Future Events Experience is designed to provide a platform which will directly allow visitors to interact and experience different technology and innovative services that they can use for their next event, conference or meeting," Barnett concluded.
