Citing Recovery, Cvent Acquires 500 New Customers

Calling it a sign of a meetings industry recovery, meetings technology company Cvent so far this year has acquired more than 500 new customers for its event management software, it announced last month. Its new customers include The Boeing Company, Nationwide Mutual Insurance, BusinessWeek Magazine and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, among others.

"Although budget concerns led many organizations to scale back on events in recent years, face-to-face meetings are still considered best for building the relationships that drive business," Cvent Vice President of Sales Brian Ludwig said in a statement. "We see the recent uptick in customers adopting Cvent's event management software as evidence that the meetings industry is gathering steam. At the same time, meeting and event planners are under more pressure now than ever to increase attendance, significantly cut spending and measure results. Cvent's event management software helps our customers do just that by enabling them to centrally manage and automate time-consuming tasks so they can focus valuable time on strategic planning initiatives."

According to Cvent, its event management software — which streamlines the event planning process by automating everything from site selection and sourcing to budgeting, event marketing, attendee registration, housing and even post-event reporting — helps users increase event attendance by an average of 21 percent and decrease event costs by an average of 45 percent.
