Software company Acteva is making Acteva Express — its popular event registration and payment management platform — available at no cost to events with no registration fees, it announced yesterday.
The new offering, which the company is calling "Free For Free Events," is expected to be a major benefit to associations, nonprofits, small businesses and other cash-strapped organizations.
"Organizations that have hesitated from trying our online registration and management solution because their events were free and didn't think they could afford it can stop worrying about the cost," said Acteva CEO Pankaj Gupta. "When an organization hosts a free event, they can take advantage of all the marketing and promotion tools within Acteva for free to help their cause of business."
Acteva offers a scalable solution with three versions — Express, Plus and Pro — of its software. By offering the Express version for free, it's hoped that customers will see the value of the software and subsequently upgrade to the Plus or Pro version as their needs and processes mature.
Acteva Express has numerous features, including email marketing and reporting tools, as well as standard print templates for print-at-home tickets, name badges and certificates. Those who upgrade to Acteva Plus or Pro, however, can access additional premium features, such as smartphone-based scanning for check-ins, an events calendar and integration with Salesforce.com.
