ASAE Releases App to Help Associations with Advocacy

As part of its annual legislative fly-in, American Associations Day, taking place March 25-26 in Washington, D.C., the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) has released a new mobile app to assist associations with their advocacy efforts, it announced last week.

Although the app features American Associations Day-specific information — including a schedule of events, speaker bios, talking points and a Congressional directory — it also will serve as a permanent grassroots advocacy platform, providing advocacy updates, breaking legislative alerts and social media connectivity. Before, during and after American Associations Day, association users will be able to email and call their members of Congress, and will receive “push” notifications from ASAE when action is needed on pending legislation.

“This is a game changer for ASAE’s advocacy efforts,” ASAE Senior Vice President of Public Policy Jim Clarke said in a statement. “With the legislative battles ahead, we are in a critical period for associations, and this app will help us increase our impact and show Congress the power of associations.”

The new ASAE advocacy app is available on iTunes and Google Play for use on the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android operating systems.
