Planners Wary About Future of Air Travel

Costs, falloff in service to small cities top the list of concerns

Midway through one of the worst summers for air travel in terms of cost, available seats and lost luggage, corporate and association meeting planners are most concerned about rising fares.
In an exclusive MeetingNews survey of more than 200 meeting planners, 79 percent of respondents indicated that price was one of their top two concerns (see chart, page 1). Budgetary needs put many planners in the unenviable position of trying to maintain a quality experience while holding firm on or reducing costs.
