PMPI Releases Earnings White Paper

In September the Potomac chapter of Meetings Professionals International conducted a research study to assess the correlation between earning and holding professional designations and earning a higher annual salary. 1,008 meeting and event professionals in the Washington, DC metropolitan area participated in the study.

Key findings included the fact that 65.4 percent of all planners currently hold professional designations, compared to 44.2 percent of suppliers, and that 6 out of 10 employers financially support the pursuit of professional designations. In addition, 29.6 percent of planners who currently hold designations are working towards additional professional designations. The study also examined the popularity of various professional designations, with CMP topping the list, followed by CMM, CGMP, CAE, and CASE.
