Bullish on Business
Only 8 percent of the respondents feel that business conditions will deteriorate this year. The vast majority, 68 percent, think business will continue to improve this year, the only question is by how much.
What's on Planners' Minds? Safety.
The report did identify safety and security as an area of concern that planners anticipate struggling with in 2016. Here are the four statistics that stand out:
44% anticipate the threat of terrorism will have a significant effect on meetings and events
19% are providing more employee training
15% are adding more security staff
14% are developing new security plans
Expectations are High for Attendance
Growth is expected in both live attendance and virtual attendance, with 60 percent of respondents reporting hopes of more live attendance and over 40 percent seeing more growth in off-site virtual attendance.
