ASAE Partners With Cornell Center for Hospitality Research to Study Trade Shows

Effective Sept. 1, 2011, the ASAE Foundation will become the newest senior partner of the Cornell Center for Hospitality Research (CHR), the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) announced yesterday.

As a senior partner, the ASAE Foundation — which supports the association management profession by focusing on research projects relevant to member-serving organizations — will have the opportunity to sponsor a new research project on a hospitality industry topic every year. This year, its topic is the future of trade shows, which — along with governance, membership and knowledge creation — has been identified as one of four focus areas for the ASAE Foundation going forward.

"Like the CHR, the ASAE Foundation aims to create and share research-based information to raise awareness about important issues facing the industry and our members,” said Susan Robertson, ASAE executive vice president and president of the ASAE Foundation, who will become a member of the CHR Advisory Board. "Our partnership is a logical connection, and we're delighted to assist with CHR's research agenda.”

Added Rohit Verma CHR's executive director, "We welcome the ASAE Foundation and Susan Robertson to the CHR Advisory Board. We look forward to their support of our research projects. Their high-level approach to research will be a great benefit, and ASAE brings a unique perspective to our Advisory Board and our events."

A unit of the Cornell School for Hotel Administration, CHR's mission is sponsoring research that improves practices in the hospitality industry. For more information, visit www.chr.cornell.edu.
