Event management software firm ACTIVE Network has made a contribution to the MPI Foundation, the fundraising, education and research arm of Meeting Professionals International (MPI), MPI announced this week.
The contribution — the amount of which was not disclosed — will benefit the MPI Foundation Strategic Meetings Management Initiative, created by the foundation to find research-based solutions that address and enhance existing strategic meetings management program (SMMP) structures.
“Managing expenses and risk are important, but no expenditure — no matter how modest — is worthwhile unless the meeting’s goals are set, met and measured,” ACTIVE Network Vice President of Industry Strategy Kevin Iwamoto said in a statement. “We are delighted to partner with the MPI Foundation to help identify the tools, resources and best practices professionals need to ensure every meeting is the result of strategic thinking, thoughtful design and professional execution.”
Added MPI Foundation Chairman Vincent LaRuff, “The MPI Foundation is strongly committed to advancing the growth of the global meeting and event community. The support from ACTIVE Network will help provide meeting professionals with research-driven tools and knowledge needed to design effective meetings that generate measureable results.”
