The American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) & The Center for Association Leadership have launched a new communications campaign that's intended to position trade associations and professional societies as solutions to America's economic woes, able to jumpstart the U.S. economy using the collective resources of their members.
Launched yesterday, ASAE & The Center's new campaign, entitled
The Power of A—the letter
A standing for
Associations—highlights the ways in which association programs, including workforce education, advocacy and community service efforts, assist U.S. employers, legislators, workers and the public at large.
"Working collectively to solve problems has never been more important than this moment in modern history," ASAE & The Center President and CEO John H. Graham IV, CAE, said in a statement. "The association community has perfected the art of collaboration, a valuable skill when all of the country's strength is needed to rebuild the economy and investigate, analyze and resolve issues of national importance such as health care, education, employment and housing."
At the center of
The Power of A is a Web site,
www.ThePowerOfA.org, that includes a blog featuring association perspectives on major national issues, including health care, jobs and energy.
"Because associations are comprised of hundreds and even thousands of industry professionals, they uniquely offer perspectives that represent all sides of an issue," Graham continued. "The numerous, diverse points of view within each association often result in policies that best reflect the people they are intended to impact and protect, as well as bold and innovative practices that enhance Americans' safety, environment and quality of life."
