The Virtual Edge Institute (VEI), an association dedicated to advancing virtual and hybrid meetings and events, will host its annual Virtual Edge Summit on Sept. 17, it announced yesterday.
Taking place entirely online, the daylong event for producers of hybrid and digital events will include education sessions for both experienced digital strategists and amateurs. Planned sessions, for instance, include:

• Making Money with Digital Events
• Value Beyond Monetization
• Scalable Success: Smaller Organizations Doing Big Things
• How To: Choosing the Right Technology for Your Virtual Events
Amanda Marijanovic, chief creative officer at INNERACTION, will serve as host of the event and session moderator. Other speakers will include Debra Rosencrance, vice president of meetings and events at the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO); Scott Lum, senior marketing manager at Microsoft; Mary Beth Micucci, director of digital events at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS); Todd Helton, director of meetings and conferences at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA); and David Stankiewicz, a project specialist at the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE).
Attendees will be able to earn up to 0.5 continuing education units (CEUs) toward their Digital Event Strategist (DES) or Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification.
