The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company is the latest hotelier to introduce a mobile app developed exclusively for meeting planners. The new app, called ((chime)), lets planners communicate directly with their conference concierge by using an online menu of options on their mobile device.
Similar to Ritz-Carlton's parent company's Red Coat Direct app for Marriott Hotels, which debuted in 2013, ((chime)) works as an immediate way for planners to communicate with their on-site conference services manager, and to request specific services. Requested services can include food-and-beverage changes, A/V requests, in-room temperature changes, room set-ups, and scheduling alterations -- all of which are made from a touch-activated mobile device app. A text feature also allows planners to give specific and unique instructions to the conference concierge during a meeting. As soon as a request is sent, the planner will receive a response from the concierge confirming receipt of the request.
"The Ritz-Carlton is the leader in luxury meetings globally," said David Murphy, vice president, food and beverage design and development for The Ritz-Carlton. "((Chime)) extends that leadership into digital and mobile, allowing meeting planners around the world to schedule services and request fulfillment prior to and during their events," he continued. "((Chime)) anticipates meeting planner needs and supports event teams in delivering extraordinary and personalized service."
((Chime)) is now available for download at Ritz-Carlton hotels and resorts worldwide, and is also available in 20 languages globally that include Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Hebrew, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish and Vietnamese.
