Telecom Groups to Reunite Trade Shows

Washington, DC -- The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) and United States Telecom Association (USTelecom) yesterday announced they will once again produce a single trade show after holding separate shows this year.

In deciding to reunite their shows, the two associations responded to exhibitors' demands for a single major telecommunications industry annual event. TIA and USTelecom jointly produced Supercomm for 18 years until this year.

"Our organizations' members want one premier show," said TIA president Matt Flannigan.

The new show, NXTcomm, is scheduled for June 18-21 at McCormick Place, in Chicago. The associations are considering Las Vegas for the 2008 show, they said.

TIA represents telecommunications vendors while USTelecom primarily represents telecom service providers.
