Glenn Dale, MD -- TVI Corp., which supplies temporary shelter and other equipment to government emergency-response agencies, has acquired Signature Special Event Services, an event equipment rental company.
The acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, provides financial backing and an increased catalog of equipment to Signature while strengthening TVI's offerings of temporary shelters, according to TVI.
"We are well-equipped to expand our role in the temporary shelter system marketplace," TVI chief executive Richard Priddy said last week in announcing the acquisition. "We intend to leverage both companies' leading brand names, distribution strengths, and customer synergies to ensure this transaction builds significant long-term value."
Signature, of Frederick, MD, serves such clients as the Professional Golfer's Association, Honda Motor Co., Bell South, American Red Cross, Federal Emergency Management Agency, and the U.S. military.
Tom Brown will continue as Signature's president, and the other Signature executives, Cathy Montez, Michelle Pender, and Dennis Remsberg, will also remain, according to TVI.
