To showcase the knowledge and expertise of its chapter leaders, and to promote continuing education among its members, the Society of Incentive Travel Executives — otherwise known as Site — yesterday launched the first-ever Site Global Week of Education, taking place April 15-21, 2012.
The week, which features activities organized by 16 local Site chapters around the world, will include local, regional and global education events for professionals in the motivational experiences and incentive travel industries. Open to both current and prospective Site members, examples include local chapter panels and seminars, webinars and podcasts, case studies and white papers, and live-stream dialogue with industry experts.
"The objective of the Site Global Week of Education is to promote Site's mission as the leading source of expertise and knowledge in the motivational and incentive travel fields," said Site President Alejandro Verzoub. "We feel that this is a way to produce memorable, educational opportunities that will showcase that, for Site, education is important and relevant."
Examples of Site Global Education Week events are: "Anatomy of a Successful Incentive Travel Program," a presentation being delivered to hospitality students by Site Minnesota on April 17; "Mastering the BUZZ," featuring ideas for digital event experiences, courtesy of Site Texas; and "Let Your True Business Value Be Known," a webinar featuring a panel discussion by Site leadership that Site Global will host on April 19.
"Site Chapters in Belgium, Canada, Spain and the [United States] — Florida, Minnesota and Southern California — have already scheduled their educational events," said Site Managing Director Allison Summers. "Our goal is to engage all 30 of our global Site chapters to define and deliver educational content, that is relevant to our industry, in interesting and creative ways."
