Santa Monica Convention & Visitors Bureau (SMCVB) appoints new Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mary Ann Powell, CEO of Pacific Park. Powell's appointment, a one-year term, coincides with the recently celebrated 10th anniversary of Pacific Park and SMCVB's 25th anniversary. "Mary Ann"s expertise in public and customer relations coupled with her community leadership in Santa Monica as CEO of Pacific Park makes her the perfect candidate for Chairman of the Board," said Misti Kerns, President/CEO of Santa Monica Convention & Visitors Bureau. "She has been a valuable resource for strategizing community enhancement and tourism for Santa Monica and we are excited about her appointment."As the new Chairman, Powell will work directly with all divisions of SMCVB on various programs. This will involve extensive planning with the Board of Directors and staff to guide the strategic positioning of the Santa Monica destination worldwide. She will also provide leadership for all upcoming bureau projects, such as Santa Monica's continued improvement efforts as a sustainable city, the second annual Beach Summit and SMCVB's 25th anniversary.
