Rearden Commerce Launches Online Booking Tool for Group Ground Transportation

Citing a need for centralized management of group ground transportation, Global Ground Automation (GGA)—owned by e-commerce company Rearden Commerce—has launched an online booking engine that's designed to address "the distinct requirements of ground transportation for meetings and events," it announced last week.

Scheduled for rollout in September to destination management companies, convention and visitors bureaus, and corporations via corporate intranet, GGA's "Group Ground" solution will allow meeting and event planners to plan, book, execute and evaluate their ground transportation services online.

Its features includes: pre-venue selection comparative pricing from preferred suppliers; vehicle sharing optimization based on meeting planner input; group manifest acceptance to mass load reservations; the ability to manage changes or cancellations directly from the system with corresponding optimization capabilities for service providers; and complete group ground costs reporting capabilities immediately following the event.

"Group transportation accounts for 40 percent of corporate ground spend on average," said GGA President Gregg Tuccillo. "By deploying an easy-to-use online tool that encompasses the lifecycle of an event's ground transportation needs, we are able to help event organizers maximize their budget while minimizing their headaches."

GGA's Group Ground solution will be introduced at the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) annual convention, taking place Aug. 21-24 in Denver. For more information, visit www.globalground.com.
