To simplify the process of booking hotel room blocks, Passkey International has launched a new tool that allows meeting planners to manage multiple room reservations using a single online platform, it announced this month.
Called the Multi-Room Booking tool, the new booking engine is an industry first, according to Passkey, which describes the product as "supplanting the need for [meeting planners] to create, manage, modify, send and re-send Excel spreadsheets." Part of Passkey's GroupMAX platform — which destinations, hotels and planners use to manage the group reservation process — it allows planners to:
• Populate default booking data, bulk modify and instantly manipulate reservation details from a single location online;
• View live data about room blocks, helping them confirm reservations instantly, as well as assign guests to designated room types based upon actual availability; and
• Send personalized confirmation emails to each guest once reservations are processed, instantly alerting them that their hotel booking has been made.
Other key features include the ability for sub-block contacts — including exhibitors, VIPs, etc. — to book their own rooms in their own sub-blocks online, and for meeting planners to leverage integrated delegate profiles to manage bookings for attendees who attend multiple events.

According to Passkey, the Multi-Room Booking tool will be available to all Passkey licensees by year-end 2011.
