Spanish-speaking convention sales professionals have a new way to learn about their association customers, according to the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), which has used a grant from the PCMA Education Foundation to translate its Certified Association Sales Executive (CASE) Online Course into Spanish.
"With the increasing demand for PCMA global education offerings, this was an important 2012 initiative for the Foundation to support and fund," said PCMA Education Foundation Chair Liz Erikson. "In 2013 global meeting professionals will see the Foundation play a more active role in bringing education to both the North American and global community."
The CASE Online Course is an interactive online course consisting of 10 building block modules that build participants' knowledge of association management, preparing them to strategically align their products and services with association customers. The course culminates with participants taking their collective association knowledge, building an account plan and presenting a consultative presentation to their chosen association customer to demonstrate newly acquired expertise. Upon completion of all 10 modules, course participants are awarded a certificate and seven continuing education units.
"By translating the course into Spanish, PCMA has created a new opportunity for Spanish speaking professionals involved in selling to the association marketplace to increase their understanding of the association marketplace and hone their association selling skills," said PCMA President and CEO Deborah Sexton. "As PCMA continues to look at opportunities for growth in the global marketplace, translating the CASE program into Spanish for the broader Latin American region was an opportunity identified by our global community. We've already begun collaborating with our chapter in Mexico to promote the benefits of obtaining a CASE certificate."
