PCMA Shuffles Staff to Focus on Education, Marketing

Citing its desire to "elevate" its strategic initiatives with both education and marketing, the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) has made several staff changes and additions, it announced yesterday.

The first change is with Senior Vice President Kelly Peacy, who currently leads PCMA's meetings and events team and has now added to her responsibilities leadership of the PCMA education team. Peacy has a 12-year history with PCMA, having previously worked in marketing, research, and meetings and events. During her tenure she has grown PCMA's portfolio of face-to-face and virtual events, increased its meetings revenue, and expanded its meeting and events team.

"This aligns PCMA's education approach with the trends we are seeing in our industry," said PCMA President and CEO Deborah Sexton. "Kelly has long been the architect of PCMA's meeting design and she will now orchestrate the complete meeting experience for our participants."

Another change in PCMA staffing is the addition of Carolyn Clark as vice president of marketing and communications. Clark — who previously led brand strategy and marketing teams for several Chicago-based agencies and logged 16 years with Hilton Worldwide in a variety of hotel-based and corporate positions — has worked in her position as an independent contractor for the past seven months and now assumes the role full time. She will lead the branding and marketing of PCMA's products, services and events, and liaison with industry press.

"Carolyn brings her extensive marketing and industry knowledge to PCMA and the results are already evident," said PCMA COO Sherrif Karamat. "Her talents will benefit both PCMA and our partners."
