PCMA Holds Summit for CEOs of Convention Centers, CVBs

In collaboration with Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI), the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) held its second annual CEO Summit on Sunday, Jan. 9, in conjunction with the 2011 PCMA annual meeting in Las Vegas, it announced yesterday.

According to PCMA, the CEO Summit hosted more than 60 convention center and CVB executives for "high-level collaboration and sharing of information."

"PCMA is very pleased at the level of participation by top industry leaders in the CEO Summit," said PCMA President and CEO Deborah Sexton. "This program focused on educating destination stakeholders on the value of the meetings and convention industry and the importance of collaboration to ensure the future success of the meetings industry."

To help CEOs improve their products and services, the CEO Summit featured a panel session of customers sharing the critical industry issues they're facing. It also featured an open discussion focused on current trends, and on the changing relationship between DMOs and convention centers.

"The CEO Summit is an example of how PCMA is constantly working on collaborative opportunities to promote the value of the meetings and convention industry and committed to delivering superior and innovative education," Sexton continued.
