Industry veteran Susan Katz has joined the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) in the newly created role of senior vice president of operations, PCMA announced last week.
A member of the meetings industry for more than 30 years, Katz -- a former member of the PCMA board, of which she was chair in 2011 -- most recently was director of corporate events and travel for the True Value Company. Prior to that, she worked for several associations, including the National Safety Council and the American Dental Association.
"We couldn't be more excited about Susan joining the PCMA executive team," PCMA President and CEO Deborah Sexton said of Katz, who has sat on several industry boards, including those of the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau, InterContinental Hotel Group, and the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau Advisory Council, among others. "She knows our organization well and will make an immediate positive impact with both our members and industry. Susan is a remarkable consensus builder; her addition to the PCMA team helps ensure that we remain relevant with our audience and continue to 'walk the talk' of the meeting professional."
