Video: Q&A with Deborah Sexton, President & CEO of PCMA
The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) has formed a global partnership with the International Association of Professional Congress Organizers (IAPCO), it announced today at IMEX in Frankfurt.
Under the terms of the new partnership, the two organizations will collaborate on programs, education, and products and services of mutual benefit to their members and the meetings industry as a whole. Likewise, it will ensure shared dissemination of knowledge through pooled resources, including newsletters and education sessions.
“IAPCO members play a critical role in delivering and managing the services and needs of PCMA members and customers globally,” PCMA Chief Operating Officer Sherrif Karamat said in a statement. “Our partnership with IAPCO strengthens our commitment to the entire industry to provide the best resources and education to ensure our members and customers are achieving their strategic business objectives.”
Added IAPCO President Gonzalo Perez Constanzó, “This is an excellent opportunity for both associations to work together to share their combined knowledge and expertise for the benefit of not only the members of each association, but also of all those outside the associations that draw on the materials and know-how that is publicly available. We are delighted to be a part of this collaboration and look forward to the challenges and co-operation of such a partnership.”
PCMA is based in Chicago and has more than 6,000 meeting-professional members. IAPCO, meanwhile, is based in Switzerland and represents more than 115 professional organizers, meeting planners, and managers of international and national conventions.
