The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) hired Arlis Whalum as its new chief financial officer, it announced this week.
Whalum most recently was director of finance at the American Planning Association, a national membership association for community planners with more than 40,000 members. She spent 17 years there, prior to which she had both Big 4 CPA and Fortune 500 experience.
"Arlis is a tremendous addition to the PCMA executive team," PCMA President and CEO Deborah Sexton said in a statement. "She has a proven track record with talents spanning from financial management to organizational efficiencies and process improvements; I have no doubt that she will make an immediate positive impact on our organizational practices."
Whalum holds an MBA degree, with a concentration on nonprofit management, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
