The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) has announced the winners of its 2013 Achievement Awards, who will be honored for their contributions to the meetings and events industry at the 58th PCMA annual meeting, Convening Leaders, taking place Jan. 12-15, 2014, in Boston.
“This year’s award recipients have made tremendous strides in helping advance the meetings industry. Our behind the scenes look at their works will certainly inspire change throughout the entire events community,” PCMA President and CEO Deborah Sexton said in a statement.
PCMA will recognize individuals and companies in nine different award categories, including:
• Distinguished Member of the Year Award: Mary Gallagher, Director, Citywide Accounts, San Francisco Travel Association
• Distinguished Meeting Professional of the Year Award: Kati Quigley, CMP, Senior Director, WW Partner Community Events, Microsoft Corp.
• Distinguished Service Professional of the Year Award: Jim Kelley, Director, Global Accounts, PRG Corporate & Tradeshow Services
• Emerging Leader Award: Ushma Suvarnakar, Meetings Manager, American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists
• Outstanding Service to a Chapter Award: Janeé Palletier, Vice President, Conference & Logistics Consultants Inc.
• Educator of the Year Award: Carol Krugman, Assistant Professor, Metropolitan State University of Denver
• Innovation Award: QuickMobile
• Spirit Award: Experient, A Maritz Travel Company
• Environmental Leadership Award: McDonald’s Corp. and Delta Airlines
