Portland, OR -- Jeff Miller, manager of this city's convention center, has been appointed president and chief executive of the Portland Oregon Visitors Association, effective Nov. 13.
Miller succeeds Joe D'Alessandro, who in July was appointed president and CEO of the San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Miller joined the Metropolitan Exposition Recreation Commission in February 2005 as general manager. The public agency manages the Portland Center for the Performing Arts and Portland Metropolitan Exposition Center in addition to the Oregon Convention Center.
He previously worked as a retail executive, with 20 years experience, including 13 years as general manager of the Saks Fifth Avenue department store here.
Miller volunteers with the Portland Business Alliance and serves on the advisory board of the Cascade AIDS Project.
Miller will head a staff of 50 full-time employees and manage an annual budget of nearly $8 million.
