Online Prep Helps Students Pass CMP Exam, PCMA Reports

Of students who enrolled in its CMP Online Prep course in 2008, 98 percent passed the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) examination on their first try, the Chicago-based Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) announced this month. Industry wide, the pass rate is 72 percent to 76 percent, according to the Convention Industry Council (CIC), which administers the test.

"We are thrilled with these numbers," PCMA President and CEO Deborah Sexton said. "It demonstrates that the PCMA CMP Online Prep course is designed with the goal of not only helping participants pass the CMP exam, but also delivering knowledge that will increase professionalism in the industry. It's a winning combination. There is no other online preparation course anywhere close to this level of depth and completeness."

The PCMA CMP Online Prep course is the first online course designed to help meetings and event professionals pass the CMP exam, according to PCMA, which says it has aligned the course with reference materials recommended by the CIC.

"I was happy to learn that the content we deliver truly positions you to pass the exam," said PCMA's Senior Director of Education Dr. Glen Ramsborg, who recently took and passed the CMP exam. "I experienced the same pre-exam anxieties as many other fellow test-takers. I can confidently say that if you want to be ready on exam day, PCMA's Online Prep course can be your best friend."
