Next ICCA Congress Will Be Most Global Ever

2014 ICCA Congress

Its 2014 ICCA Congress will be the most diverse ever, according to the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), which announced earlier this month that the meeting -- taking place Nov. 1-5 in Antalya, Turkey -- had surpassed 800 registrations from a record-setting 71 countries.

Another all-time record is the number of attendees signed up and pre-qualified for the "Business Exchange," a forum during which ICCA members share information, leads, and lessons learned to help one another secure business from international associations.

"Today every delegate has to demonstrate great ROI when they attend a conference. Our Business Exchange concept is designed to ensure that participating delegates go back to their offices with vital information on bids they are currently working on and a portfolio of potential new sales leads, and I'm delighted that a record number are taking advantage of this opportunity," ICCA CEO Martin Sirk said in a statement. "Combine this with a world-class education program, unique insights into the future direction of the international association sector, Expert Advice Appointments on hundreds of business topics, and the chance to network with senior executives and potential partners from all over the world, and it is no surprise that we're expecting this to be one of the most seriously business-focused ICCA Congresses ever."
