After six years, MPI president and CEO Bruce MacMillan has decided not to renew his contract, which concludes at the end of June. Cindy D’Aoust, recently appointed COO of MPI, will step in as interim chief executive as the board assembles a search committee to find a replacement.
“The committee will be in place by the end of the week,” says Sebastien Tondeur, MPI international chairman. “Kevin Hinton, our chairman elect, will chair the search committee, which will be working aggressively to find someone to fill the position.”
When asked during a press conference for his reasons for leaving, MacMillan said the time was right. “Any leader wants to leave when things are good and the path ahead is very clear and very positive,” he said. “It seemed like the right time. It’s the end of our fiscal year, we’ve got a new COO, and a new board coming with incredible community experience. For me the stars lined up perfectly and for me on a personal level it’s a great time to look around the industry and see where my next opportunity is.”
