Fort Worth, Texas -- David DuBois, executive vice president of Meeting Professionals International Foundation, today was named president and chief executive of the Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau.
"His proven success as a leader will provide a strong foundation for the continued growth of our world-class city," bureau chairman Jeff King said of DuBois, who will assume his new position on Jan. 2.
In accepting the new position, DuBois acknowledged his close association with Meeting Professionals International (MPI), which is the largest association of professional meeting planners, with more than 20,000 members.
"MPI will always be in my blood, and after more than nine amazing years, I look forward to continuing my relationship with them in another capacity," DuBois said.
During his stint at MPI, DuBois also served as vice president of corporate services and chief operating officer. He left MPI in 2000 to head the Professional Convention Management Association, but the board dismissed him in January 2002, and he returned to MPI the following month.
