Meeting Professionals International (MPI) is continuing its global and Eurasian expansion by forming a new club in Turkey, it was announced during IMEX in Frankfurt. “We are excited to support the growth of the meetings and events industry in Turkey through education, knowledge-sharing, and connecting our community there to global business opportunities,” says Bruce MacMillan, president and CEO of MPI.
The new club is a result of two years of effort. “All MPI members in Turkey, especially the group of new club board members have sincerely believed in the need and benefit of forming an MPI club in Turkey have worked hard for it and are all very excited and happy to join the MPI global family. We are committed to contribute with professional education and develop networking opportunities not only among Turkish MPI members but also with our MPI peers around the globe,” explains Handan Boyce, Turkey club president. Boyce is an industry veteran in Turkey bringing more than 25 years of experience in the meeting and event industry, a wealth of contacts and experience to benefit in the growth and expansion of the club.
The newly formed club has 31 members with plans to increase membership to 75 by the end of June 2012. The Turkey club will have a member education meeting the end of June 2011, bringing all their members together to provide them an educational program and networking opportunities.
