Meeting Professionals International (MPI) wrapped up the third quarter of 2014 by awarding its Healthcare Meeting Compliance Certificate (HMCC) to 61 meeting professionals, bringing the total population of HMCC-certified meeting planners to 247 to date, it announced yesterday.
The HMCC was created in 2013 by the International Medical Meeting Professionals Association (IMMPA). Accredited through Saint Louis University, it is awarded to individuals who successfully complete a course that teaches the fundamentals of planning a medical meeting, including basic information about U.S. and global health care regulations and laws, the various types of health care meetings, and medical meeting risks and liabilities. MPI acquired the certification in June.
