If you've ever wanted to see for yourself what goes into producing a major meeting or event, 2016 could be your chance, according to Meeting Professionals International (MPI), which has announced dates and locations for the first two programs of its 2016 Experiential Event Series.
The first program will take place Jan. 4-7 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The second will take place March 17-19 at the South by Southwest (SXSW) music, film, and technology festival in Austin, TX.
Launched earlier this year as part of the MPI Academy, the MPI Experiential Event Series gives meeting professionals a hands-on look at the production of high-profile meetings and events. Each experience includes exclusive tours and discussions, and concludes by awarding participants with a relevant certificate in areas such as event production, experiential marketing, festival production, or sports event management.
The first MPI Experiential Event Series program took place in September in Atlantic City, NJ, where 30 attendees received a behind-the-scenes look at the Miss America Pageant. The series' second program took place in November at the Epcot Food & Wine Festival in Orlando.
