Long-Time Independent Joins Prestigious Event Firm

Boston -- After nearly two decades of work as an independent planner, Carol Krugman has joined George P. Johnson, a leading global event marketing firm, as director of client services.

Krugman, who will be based here, reports for duty on June 19 and will become “one of the company’s client services leads, with emphasis on the pharmaceutical industry and a key part of GPJ’s leadership team on global meeting planning and management strategy,” according to the company’s announcement of the hire.

Best known for her work in Latin America, including oversight of her own planning firm in Brazil, and for work with pharmaceutical companies, Krugman wanted to branch out.

“After 16 years as an independent meeting professional, I am ready for a change and welcome the opportunity to contribute my years of experience and expertise to the growth of another, larger organization,” she said. “GPJ is a dynamic, rapidly growing organization that has become synonymous in our industry with cutting edge event marketing and excellence in meeting management on a truly global scale.

For its part, GPJ couldn’t be happier to have Krugman onboard.

“Carol has an impressive track record of developing best practices in meeting management, building profitable business and creating value for clients, as well as the industry,” said Jeff Rutchik, senior vice president of client services, to whom Krugman will report. “From Fortune 500 companies to startups, Carol has been a meetings and event marketing industry innovator. We’re delighted to welcome her to the team.”
