Kevin M. Hinton has joined association management company SmithBucklin as chief staff officer of Site — formerly the Society of Incentive Travel Executives — and the Site International Foundation, SmithBucklin and Site announced yesterday.
Hinton, who served as 2012-13 chairman of Meeting Professionals International (MPI), most recently was executive vice president of Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI), a global hotel sales network serving more than 140 luxury hotel members. Prior to that, he was CEO of hinton+grusich, which was acquired by ALHI in 2011.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kevin to the SmithBucklin team,” Paul Dykstra, vice president of client services for SmithBucklin’s Business Trade Industry Practice, said in a statement. “Kevin has extensive business and global experience in the meetings, incentives, conventions and expositions industries. His skills in implementing global business operation solutions will enable him to advance the mission of Site, while increasing value to its members.”
Hinton replaces Site Managing Director Allison Summers, who resigned effective June 21 to become executive director of Zonta International, an international organization of executives working together to advance the status of women.
