Esteemed independent meeting planner Chris Pentz died on May 21 after an almost two-year battle with cancer.Pentz, who was based in Philadelphia after immigrating to the United States several decades ago from Argentina, specialized in pharmaceutical events and in bringing programs to Latin America.Industry friends describe her as a "very good professional businesswoman," who had ethics beyond reproach and who always had a kind word about others, no matter whether deserved or not."She was just good to be around and I never saw her offend anyone," said Joy Fox, a retired independent meeting planner based in Victoria, British Columbia, who described Pentz as "my dearest friend."A memorial service for Pentz will be held on Monday, June 5, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Beck-Givnish Funeral Home, 7400 New Falls, Levittown, Penn.
