The annual IMEX trade show has been taking place in Frankfurt, Germany, for more than a decade. Visitors to this year's show will have the chance to say "thanks" to the host city by participating in a special charity cooking event on May 18, the day before the exhibition, organizer the IMEX Group announced this week.
During the event, volunteers who wish to donate their time will cook lunch for the 50 residents of the "Haus Lichtblick" shelter, a nonprofit homeless shelter run for more than 25 years by local nun Sister Sigrid Ehrlich. Fresh ingredients for the meal will be donated by the Sheraton Frankfurt Congress Hotel, whose executive chef will oversee the cooking.
Attendees who wish to volunteer may contact Sarah Skavron for more details. Only 20 spots are available, and they will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
